For this unique FL. fisheries, Eli has chosen the Wooldridge 20’ Super Sport Drifter as his platform.




The open layout, 10 degree planning surface and 18 degree entry will allow him to knock down the chop, but still be able to run across the flats in a mere 4” of water. Eli says having this boat will be a HUGE advantage to his success. “Many of the fish we will be targeting are by sight.” So not only will he be able to run shallower then others, he can fish shallower than others!


There is no doubt that Eli Rico’s name has been built right here in the great Pacific Northwest, and he plans to keep that sector growing as well. The Northwest Icon is upgrading his NW boat to a 20’ Alaskan XL Open-Tiller.

“The 20’ Alaskan XL give me the same surface area on the water as my 23’ Alaskan II.” Increased surface area translates into more lift. So getting up on step is quicker, it planes out at slower speeds and freedrifts through less water! “Nothing else has changed, the proven tunnel and deadrise combination of my last boat are still the basis of my new boat. “These are the characteristics that have allowed me for years, to reach fish in spots that other cant! “
